Wavelengths: one or several?
Classic diode lasers work at 808 nm. Multi-wavelength devices add 755, 940 and 1064 nm in one handpiece. This lets you cover light and darker skin types as well as fine and coarse hair with one device. For studios with a mixed clientele a multi-wavelength system is usually the more flexible choice.
Power, spot size and cooling
Power in watts determines how quickly large areas such as legs or back can be treated. Large or interchangeable spots shorten treatment time, small spots make the upper lip and underarms easier. Effective contact cooling in the handpiece ensures comfort and is essential at high pulse rates.
Service, training and NiSV
Ask about training, spare parts, service response times and a contact person in your language. In Germany the laser must be notified to the competent authority before use, and anyone operating it needs certified expertise under the NiSV.
Checklist before you buy
- Which wavelengths are included, and in which handpiece?
- What is the power, which spot sizes are available?
- How is the handpiece cooled?
- Is there training and a fixed contact person?
- How fast are spare parts and service?
- Does your team hold or plan the NiSV certificate?
Frequently asked questions
Which diode laser suits darker skin types?
1064 nm is key because it is absorbed less by the melanin in the skin. Multi-wavelength systems such as the 4D TECLASER already include 1064 nm.
May a beauty studio use a diode laser for hair removal?
Yes, laser hair removal is not reserved for physicians in Germany. You need to notify the authority and hold valid NiSV certified expertise.
Can I see the laser before buying?
Yes. We demonstrate devices in Düsseldorf by appointment and advise in German, English, Russian and Ukrainian.
